I like alternative transportation because it makes me feel good about reducing my carbon footprint in the world. When MARTA takes you where you need to go (and let's face it, in Atlanta, MARTA doesn't go everywhere), it is convenient not to worry about parking. Though it takes a little more planning, once you get into a routine, it doesn't take long. Also, taking MARTA allows me to read or do work during travel time - something I wouldn't be able to do if I were driving.

Alternative methods of travelling to/from work should be a way of life. Using MARTA and Atlantic Station free shuttle provides me with down-time to relax, as well as the opportunity to meet others who work in the Midtown area; great for networking. Plus, riding the train gives me time to read and/or study. And finally, I don't have to struggle with finding a parking space under my office building (the last 2 times I drove to work, my car was hit in the garage, thus I now have permanent reminders with dents, scrapes and paints). Why I love Alternate Transportation...

I love Alternate Transportation because it's convenient to use, cheaper than owning and maintaining a vehicle, gets me where I need to go, and is better for the environment.
